Bordharan Regional Gathering 2010

About 250 youths from various districts of North Maharashra were present at the event making it a great success. Though it was regional gathering participants from Western Maharashtra mainly from Pune, Nashik and Mumbai also participated to support the event. The representatives from the states of Bihar and Orissa also marked the event with their presence.

The theme of this year’s Regional Gathering was ‘Inspire and Connect’.  Kumarjeev and Dharmashalin in their own unique styles acted as the main resource persons during the event. During this five day event from 25 to 30th Dec 2010, the mornings started with Dharmashalin leading recitation of Trisaran Panchasheel, PositivePrecepts, Anapansati and Metta Bhavana meditation sessions. Along with meditation he also introduced and taught CHI-GUNG exercises to the young participants. Everyday Kumarjeev shared very profound Dhamma teachings in very simple language and with illustrative examples. He really inspired the youth to look at their own lives and to connect to themselves as well as with others.  He not only touched the importance of Dhamma in their personal lives but also how it can contribute to success in their schools, college and professions.

Various other sessions at the event were organized around this theme which included sharing of various skills the participant’s had with their fellow friends in the gathering. This included Sharing on Nonviolent communiacation skills session lead by Pranit Savarkar, Bharati Shetty and Pradnya Wadkar. The social Education Mode sessions were lead by Mithun Kumar, Santosh Inamdar and Pranit Savarkar. This included looking at lives of various Saints, Buddhist emperors and Social Reformers who tirelessly worked to promote freedom, fraternity and equality in the India society which is divided on the basis of caste since time which no one can tell for exact.

There were also sessions for Career Counseling lead by Miss Mamta and Kirti Deole, Personality Development sessions on ‘Goal Setting’ and ‘What Motivtes You’ were lead by Prashant and Dharmashalin. Adv Pranya Wadkar led a session on ‘Introduction to Human Rights’.  An inspiring debate competition was also organized and participants presented their views on topic ‘Individual or organization’.  Every evening Atish would lead a ‘play for peace’ events and make the participant feel relaxed through various games.

All these variety of sessions served the participants to inspire each other and connect to make the vision of NNBY come true which says “Growing Together With Mutual Love”. It can be said that the participants enjoyed sharing resources to make the dream of NNBY come true. We inspired, we Shared and build new connections throughout the event.

The evenings were fun but also some serious reflections through documentary shows as well as remembering our ideals and expressions of our devotion to the three precious jewels the Buddha,  the Dhamma and the Sangha through Puja. Dharmashalin and Jnanratna introduced the importance of Puja to the participants. There was also mantra chanting every day with Puja which added joy to the spiritual atmosphere with 250 participants chanting the manta’s like ‘Om Mane Padme Hum’ and ‘Sabbe Satta Sukhi Hontu’ in unanimous.

Bhushan and Poonam were responsible for the documentary sessions every evening and received great appreciation from the participants for their excellent work. The last day of the event was special as always with 5 participants requesting for Mitra ordination to become part of the larger TBO family to go deeper in their spiritual quest. The cultural event was full of fun, enjoyment and enthusiasm with everyone putting their full energy in performing as well as receiving the performances. Alok and Santosh worked tirelessly and did their job with utmost competence to make this event successful.

It was a very colorful event with debate, group discussion, demonstration plays, games and free time to know each other. A team of more than 100 people who divided themselves amongst several teams worked tirelessly at backstage for more than one month to make the event successful. It is very difficult to mention everybody’s name but in one word you can identify them as NNBY. You can call Chetan Meshram on 9922143599 who could be always seen on mobile, with his familiar smile and encouraging words before, during and after the event to check whether all supporting teams were working properly and things were in order. Chetan can tell you name of each and every person and his contribution to make the dream of NNBY come true.
